His early career was spent in Marketing with Guinness and Allied Domecq in the UK, followed by five years working in the developing markets of Russia and Ukraine in the 1990’s, initially for Allied Domecq and then The Coca-Cola Company.

Richard returned to the UK as Marketing Director for PCWorld Business. During Richard’s tenure the turnover grew from £125m to £400+m, both organically and through acquisition.

Richard was subsequently promoted to his first Managing Director role in a sister company to PCWorld and oversaw the continued growth of the business and its ultimate sale.

For the last nine years, Richard has focussed on the area of Private Equity backed business turnarounds in the Leisure Sector, most notably the turnaround and subsequent management buyout of Total Fitness Health clubs.

Richard is a graduate of The Royal Air Force College Cranwell.

Additional Information

Richard is married to Robyn, has 2 sons and lives in Yorkshire. Always leading an active lifestyle Richard is a keen runner, competing in 10k races, half marathons and marathons. Richard also enjoys hill walking (he recently climbed Mount Kilimanjaro)
