Who we are

Richard Millman

Richard was Educated at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School Wakefield and The University of Newcastle Upon Tyne.

His early career was spent in Marketing with Guinness and Allied Domecq in the UK, followed by five years working in the developing markets of Russia and Ukraine in the 1990’s, initially for Allied Domecq and then The Coca-Cola Company.

Richard returned to the UK as Marketing Director for PCWorld Business. During Richard’s tenure the turnover grew from £125m to £400+m, both organically and through acquisition.

Richard was subsequently promoted to his first Managing Director role in a sister company to PCWorld and oversaw the continued growth of the business and its ultimate sale.

For the last few years Richard has focussed on the area of Private Equity backed business turnarounds in the Leisure Sector, most notably the turnaround and subsequent management buyout of Total Fitness Health clubs.

Richard has also maintained a strong affiliation with the Royal Air Force, having flown with Northumbrian University Air Squadron, graduated from The Royal Air Force College Cranwell and served as an officer in the RAF Volunteer Reserve.

Richard is married to Robyn, has two sons and lives in Yorkshire. Always leading an active lifestyle Richard is a keen runner, competing in 10k races, half marathons and marathons. Richard also enjoys hill walking (he recently climbed Mount Kilimanjaro) mountain biking, clay shooting as well as boating and kayaking during the summer months. Richard is a keen Sheffield Wednesday supporter. Richard speaks Russian.

John Fay MBE

Managing Partner & Purpose, Leadership and Resilience Specialist

A true visionary and catalyst for change, John is extremely well connected in the corporate, sports and defence worlds. He is known for his passion for developing others and supporting organisations at the highest level.

Possessing vast experience of leadership and management from his 15 year IBM career in ERP software, where he sold and project managed global implementations. He also had a very successful amateur sporting career and was a county rugby player. John set up his consultancy 15 years ago and has personally led strategic transformations in Shop Direct Group, Lloyds Wealth Management, Willis Towers Watson, New Look, BT, LaFarge (now Tarmac) and BigW in Australia.

In 2006, John was awarded the MBE for services to leadership after he founded the RAF Junior Leaders course some 18 years ago, a course that has trained over 3,000 young people in personal development and leadership and remains today the best in class in the world for preparing young people for leadership in the military, business and professional sport.

John has for 6 years managed the careers of Ryder Cup legend Jamie Donaldson and top 20 golfer in the world, the sensational Tyrrell Hatton. He works at the very forefront of elite performance in professional sport.

John commits much of his spare time to his passion for philanthropy and charity and has led major fundraising events for the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund and John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation for which he raised almost £1m respectively. In 2014, he walked across the Falkland Islands raising money to build respite care homes for RAF families.

Ben Neary

Former Parachute Regiment Major with extensive experience of high performance leadership throughout the world, including Afghanistan, Central America and Africa.

Graduate of CEO John Fay’s Junior Leader programme in 2002.

A Sports Science graduate of the University of Leeds, Ben holds qualifications in ILM Strategic Leadership, Coach and Mentoring, Team Building and CMI and NCFE Communications as well as RQI Resilience measurement and development tool.

Matt Lock

Wellbeing and Resilience Specialist

A former professional footballer, Matt enjoyed great success with Exeter City before turning his attention to football coaching and founded Corporate Caveman in 2015, a wellbeing consultancy specialising in highly accessible, work based wellbeing training.

Matt’s delivers bespoke programmes to businesses to promote wellbeing, nutrition and fitness as a means of keeping staff in peak condition to maintain high performance.

A graduate of the University of Bath, Matt holds a BSc in Sport Science, an MSc in Strength and Conditioning as well as UEFA B Licences.

With over 12 years’ experience within the administration field, Gemma has worked with John for more than 5 years gaining extensive knowledge in supporting the Client Managers and consultants in the delivery of programmes to our clients.

Joey Salzman

Client Support Manager

Joey moved to the U.K. from Orlando, Florida where he has previously served as an electrician for the United States Military before starting his career as a business consultant.

Serving during both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, Joey received two letters of commendation for his professional achievement in the superior performance of his duties. His military career helped him to develop the necessary leadership and organizational skills to undertake any challenging assignment set before him with utmost efficiency.

A University of Central Florida graduate, Joey holds a BSc in both Business Administration and Information Technology in which he was inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success and the Tau Sigma National Honor Society during his university studies.

With a can-do attitude, Joey realizes that no single approach is the right one for every individual, easily adapting to his client’s needs. Enthusiastic, well organized, highly effective and able to manage deadline sensitive projects to the highest quality. Joey brings his education and military experience to achieve the company’s goals to the highest degree.

Dr Lizzy Bernthal

A hugely experienced health professional and former British Army Nursing Officer who accelerated to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and head of the Defence Medical Services’ psychological resilience research and development before joining DeltaV.

Benefitting from a vast range of clinical, research, teaching, leadership and management portfolio during a career in the NHS as well as the Army, Lizzy’s combination of research and practical application of resilience, wellbeing and empowerment development methods is unparalleled in much of the developed world. She speaks with immense passion and pride about her work in the most remote and challenging environments in the world, including her management of a resilience and empowerment programme that transformed the lives and futures of female doctors in Pakistan as well as other high profile projects in Europe and the Far East including Afghanistan, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Kosovo and Cyprus.

Lizzy has a stunning academic profile with BSc (Hons) (1st Class) MEd (Distinction), a PhD in Health Services and Science and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Ingrid Fear

Resilience Facilitator & Coach

Ingrid is a Behavioural Change Coach and Facilitator who develops and delivers personal development and leadership workshops to support organisational and personal change.

For over 10 years, this inspiring, professional, passionate, confident and enthusiastic Coach has worked with leaders and their teams enabling them to build stronger relationships, trust and accountability. 

Her passion lies with developing people, building their resilience and finding their purpose, values and vision. Ingrid is comfortable working with all levels of management and has a particular passion for emerging talent.

Her work has including clients in industries such as the airlines, oil and gas, insurance, retail, building industry and health and fitness.

In the past Ingrid has held roles such as Coach, Leadership Facilitator, Training Manager and Client Relationship Manager.  

Ingrid’s broad variety of skills include her non-directive style of coaching, DiSC Profiling, EQi and RQi Accreditations along with Goal Mapping Practitioner and NLP Master Practitioner techniques.

An energetic sporty person where she understands the power of small and consistent changes results in success.  Ingrid has played to county level in a number of team sports.

At present this mother of adult twins rarely overlooks a walking challenge and already has Kilimanjaro and the Thames Tow Path ticked off and now faces 100km in South Downs.

Nick Kitchen

In his first career, Nick was previously the New Business Director for the international advertising agency TBWA.

Matt Beresford

Leadership & Communications Specialist

Matt has many years of business experience, specifically in the IT industry, where he has worked with many of the world’s best-known technology companies, most recently leading a team to build the UK reseller channel for Google Chrome.

In 2011 Matt turned his life-long love of the theatre from a hobby to a profession by taking an MA in Theatre Directing under the tutelage of Sarah Esdaile and Chris White. He has continued to create and direct amateur and professional theatre ever since.

Shortly after completing his MA he combined his experience in both fields to begin coaching and training individuals and teams across a range of area, including voice, impact, self-belief, story-telling and status. He has worked with many UK and international organisations including the BBC, RBS, Barclays, Prudential, Subsea 7, Standard Life, OC&C, FSCS and Tech Data.

During 2017 he developed a new programme on Creative Leadership, applying both his experience of working with Google and the leadership principles of the Theatre Director, to enable leaders and their teams to maximise innovation, creativity and collaboration.

He trained as an executive coach in 2015, has begun formal training on Relationship Systems Intelligence and is a member of the Association for Coaching.

Rebecca Perkins

Leadership & Resilience Specialist 

Rebecca has worked as a professional resilience and wellbeing coach for 11 years with both individuals and in groups, and across all ages and sectors. She qualified in 2008 as an NLP Master Practitioner and Coach.

Her passion is in getting right to the heart of what her clients want for their lives, helping them see beyond what they currently believe is possible. Her style is energetic, open-hearted and meaningful. Rebecca’s deep understanding of where our experience of life comes from is something she shares enthusiastically with her clients. This state of mind understanding frees her clients up to explore a new way of thinking. Her belief is in her clients’ innate resilience, wisdom, clarity of mind and sense of self enabling them to make the transformative changes they long for with much greater ease. She works insightfully and intuitively holding a safe place for her clients to explore life.

Rebecca has worked with a number of charities supporting the most vulnerable of people. She has worked with the charity Youth at Risk as a coach on their in-school programmes for vulnerable pupils in Central London. Not only was this work profoundly rewarding it successfully enabled pupils to see another way forward in life.

She is currently volunteering with the homelessness charity, The Wallich, enabling ex-offenders and those still in prison to take responsibility for their own resilience and wellbeing and seeing that change is possible.

Rebecca is in the process of completing the writing of a book, Recovery from Within, with her daughter, on her recovery from an eating disorder. This is leading her to work with people of all ages and backgrounds, on addictions and helping them to free themselves from their destructive habits.

She recently moved back to the coast in South Wales and now spends her time between the sea and London and loves both.

Jessamy Sheppard

An experienced Business Coach and Facilitator specialising in personal transition, business leadership and transformation.

Jessamy gained leadership experience through a variety of roles in the private and not-for-profit sectors. A senior consultant with a specialist recruitment firm, she provided consultation on talent acquisition and team structure to high-profile consumer organisations. At Coty Inc., she managed consumer brand marketing across the UK and international markets. For the past 10 years, all of her professional roles have focussed on transition and business growth, building systems and processes, developing teams and defining and implementing business vision.

Jessamy is a founding trustee of GivingTime, a charity that supports young people make the transition from education into the workplace, by delivering a coaching and volunteering programme. Other not-for-profit work includes leading the head office of TABEISA, an entrepreneurship training scheme in South Africa and delivering Coach Training for the MOE Foundation.

Trained as a Professional Co-Active Coach in 2014, she undertook further leadership coaching training in 2016 and is a Member of the Association for Coaches.

Rosemary Moore

An HR Business Partner with extensive experience of organisational change through restructuring, mergers, acquisitions, divestments, off shoring and the impact of the digital age. Rosemary has worked with multinational organisations on global projects and with specific focus across Europe, Middle East and Africa. In Rosemary’s work as a Coach she enables higher levels of performance with individuals and teams to act upon and embed change.

Maria Lyle

Leadership Specialist

A hugely experienced leader in diverse environments spanning both the public and private sector, Maria has held senior roles in IT Software and Services, Retail, the Civil Service and within local authorities. As a former RAF officer, Maria has leveraged the expectations set within the military of authentic leadership and delivery under pressure to the senior strategic commercial and public sector roles she has held since.

An MBA graduate, Maria has most recently led a multinational team within IT Services delivery as an Operations Director for RM Education,  with multi-million P&L responsibility and key relationships with the most significant clients. Key achievements in this role included re-negotiating and extending the single largest managed services contract in the company, whilst increasing the margin of that contract by 20%.  Her strategic relationship management experience was developed as an Assistant Director for the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, where she worked directly with Cabinet Ministers and brokered co-investment deals between government, large private sector firms such as Rolls Royce, and local authorities.  Maria also has experience in developing leadership and supporting change management through coaching and consultancy with clients including Lloyds Pharmacy, Shop Direct and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

 When not at work, Maria’s passion is travel and she explores the world with her family – most recently Borneo and Western Australia. A fan of an active lifestyle, she also runs and walks with her family, although recently she is at increasing risk of being left behind by her daughter.

Ian Rustige

Leadership & Resilience Specialist

Ian is a passionate facilitator and coach, and uses draws on his experience built up working for 14 years for blue-chip pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline and also experience of founding and running a small training and coaching business. His passion is working with individuals and teams to develop resilience and greater levels of performance and fulfillment.

During his 20’s and 30’s, Ian worked across industry in the areas of business improvement, change and learning, during which he experienced a period of burnout. After receiving some life-changing coaching, he began to set up his next professional chapter driven by his passion for enabling organisations and individuals to achieve their best work, while maintaining healthy high performance. Ian facilitates Human Energy Management courses, and invested in his own development as a business and personal coach. He has also coached on flagship Women’s Leadership Equality Programme and High Potentials Strategy Programmes.

Ian’s passion is helping support leaders and organisations to empower their staff to adopt healthier productive lifestyles – to empower choice, boost energy and improve professional and personal performance. He holds two core beliefs: firstly, we CAN have it all and find a win:win to support business performance whilst achieving individual and personal success and wellbeing, and secondly, each of us has a huge reservoir of potential into which we can tap to achieve exactly what we want.

Hugh Todd

Global Coaching & Leadership Specialist

A true pioneer in the coaching profession, Hugh has been empowering individuals, leaders and teams around the world throughout a long and highly successful career in Europe, Australia and Hong Kong.

He was NATO’s support agency’s sole leadership trainer and coach for 10 years and has for example coached senior women, startups and young entrepreneurs, the construction and various other industries, young people ‘at risk’, and educators. He has won a national-best small business award. Known as ‘the coach’s coach’ he has developed online video-based programmes for leaders and coaches.

Hugh loves to encourage people to break out of comfort zones and to apply learning actively. He deals with ‘Sticky Floor Syndrome’ with self-critical high potentials and delivers entertaining & engaging leadership courses across a wide range of topics.

He is passionate about building emotional, social and physiological resilience as part of a suite of stress management strategies, ranging from elimination of unnecessary stressors to temporary coping strategies.

Qualified to Post Graduate level in coaching, to Masters level in Human Resource Management and a master practitioner of neuro-linguistic programming, Hugh is also an accredited professional associate of Marshall Goldsmith’s Global Leadership 360 and Stakeholder Centred Coaching.

Danie du Plessis

Leadership & Resilience Specialist

A senior leader with experience in leading performing teams in Medical Affairs in different countries, Danie is now a mentor, coach and consultant helping people and teams to become the next version of themselves. Danie was Senior Vice President and Head of Worldwide Medical Affairs for GlaxoSmithKline until June 2018. A Graduate from Stellenbosch Medical School in South Africa and Edinburgh Business School (Herriot-Watt University), Danie is also a member of the Association for Professional Executive Coaching and Supervision (APECS).

Danie discovered his passion for people development and employee wellness early on in his career and have started using a coaching approach to manage individuals and teams soon after joining the pharmaceutical industry.  Employee wellness including mental health remains close to his heart.

Gareth Lock

Gareth is a former Royal Air Force Squadron Leader who was a C130 Hercules navigator before leaving the military to begin a new career in consultancy and research. He has build an impressive portfolio of work with clients in numerous sectors including Oil & Gas, public and private healthcare and the maritime sector within which he has developed and delivered two globally unique coaching and training programmes in human factors and non-technical skills for high risk diving teams.

Gareth has designed and delivered programmes globally and across multi-cultural environments. He is a
Graduate of the Aerosystems Course and holds an MSc in Aerospace Systems, and now studying for a part-time PhD in Human Factors. Both bring a Systems Thinking and psychologically-safe mindset to problem solving and team development.

Certified as a trainer in the Process Communication Model, a model used by NASA for nearly 20 years as part of their astronaut selection and is only one of four active trainers in the UK delivering programmes based on this.

John Peters

Former RAF fighter pilot who leapt to fame during Gulf War 1 after being shot down and captured by Iraqi forces.

John Hall

A former Royal Air Force Squadron Leader with extensive experience leading and managing diverse and dynamic high performing teams in the UK and overseas. John has regularly been called upon to lead teams required to deliver significant increased output and has successfully done so on each occasion. A member of training staff for the Junior Leader programme in 2003 and 2007, John has a wealth of experience as a leadership mentor.

A passionate sportsman, John was a successful amateur rugby player who captained the Royal Air Force and represented the Service at two defence forces world cups and a number of representative 7’s rugby competitions around the world. This experience of sporting excellence brings an additional dynamic to his leadership which was subsequently awarded by the Royal Air Force and the US Navy.

Ian Langley

Ian began working on the North Sea rigs before founding Air Energi more than 20 years ago. The business grew into a true global services company backed by several private equity partners over the years. The merger with Swift of Houston created a $1bn business again backed by private equity. It’s one of the greatest success stories in the Industry. As such, Ian is a highly respected leader in the Oil & Gas Sector and more broadly in private equity.

Ian is Chairman of Air Swift, EPI Group and Berry Recruitment. He also sits on the board of Pockit, Little Black Dress and is a shareholder in FireStart Sports. A keen golfer (Queenwood and Prestbury) and cyclist, he also enjoys Yoga. His charity work is extensive across many causes.

Edward Gordon Lennox

Gavin Eivers

Wellbeing Specialist & Digital Learning Content Manager

Since completing his Sports Science degree in 2004, Gavin has been delivering bespoke Wellbeing and physical training programmes to a multitude of high profile clients in New York, Auckland, Melbourne and throughout the UK.

Gavin has worked on a variety of DeltaV’s Wellbeing programmes and continues to expand his impressive range of professional qualifications which include accreditation from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI), TEN Pilates Academy, Rehab Trainer and the Advanced Coaching Academy.

Gavin’s approach to Wellbeing and personal training is to deliver accessible training which combine simple movement, strength and fitness training with corrective exercises and Pilates methods, all of which are tailored to every individual and designed to be delivered either in work or around a busy schedule.

Gavin has lead the way in digestion of wellbeing & personal training content, using digital learning platforms to deliver remote coaching & bespoke wellbeing & personal training course for clients in the UK & internationally.

Gavin’s personal purpose is to people look, move, feel and generally live better by improving mobility and movement, reducing pain, improving strength, fitness, body shape and tone and reducing weight if necessary.

Will Lock

Leadership, Resilience & Wellbeing Specialist

Will is a former Captain in the Parachute Regiment who gained invaluable leadership, management and training delivery experience throughout his 8 years’ service during which he also served on numerous operation in Afghanistan.

Will is passionate about developing others and during his time in the Army spent over 4 years in training delivery roles, including 2 years at the Parachute Regiment’s training academy where he was responsible for managing and delivering programmes designed to build mental and physical resilience through progressive, innovative and immersive training.

Will left the Army in 2015 and set up a corporate wellbeing business with his brother Matt, who is now DeltaV’s Head of Wellbeing. Their business, which was acquired by DeltaV in 2018, specialised in delivering a unique form of workplace-based wellbeing programmes which focus on movement, stretching, nutrition, hydration, sleep and relaxation.

Ben Chappell

Leadership, Resilience & Teamwork Specialist

A former Captain in the Royal Marines of 8 years service who joined DeltaV in July 2017 as a leadership and resilience specialist. Ben worked extensively in operational leadership and management roles in the Marines as well as spending 3 years in a training and development role at the prestigious Commando Training Centre in Lympstone, Devon.

Ben lead a team of 4 responsible for the implementation and continuous review of coaching and mentoring practices and policy at the Commando Training Centre which during his time emerged to become a globally recognised centre of excellence. Ben was also responsible for designing and delivering the England Football Team Leadership and Teamwork programme that Gareth Southgate and his team undertook in June 2017 and credit for a run of increasingly good performances.

Peter Sunnucks

Leadership & Resilience Specialist

At the age of 35, Peter has quickly become an internationally renowned mountaineer and explorer having become one of the youngest British climbers to complete the 7 Summits, reaching the highest mountain peaks in every continent in the world, including Mt. Everest in 2010 and most recently, Mt. Vinson in Antarctica.

Peter was also responsible for the planning and leadership of these expeditions as well as the fundraising and project management of these enormous tests of mental resilience and determination. Peters’ incredible dedication to this cause is made even more impressive by the fact that he combined his expeditions with his full time role as a Senior Engineering Manager at Defence & Aerospace giants, Raytheon UK.

Peter dedicated his expeditions and achievements in completing the 7 Summits to his close friend, John Thornton, who aspired to climb Mt. Everest however was tragically killed in Afghanistan whilst serving as a Troop Commander in the Royal Marines in 2008.

Peter brings his story of leadership, mental resilience and teamwork to life in gripping and hugely enjoyable presentations as well as continuing to advise DeltaV as a senior advisor to its Resilience and Leadership programmes.

Stuart Croxford

Leadership, Mental Resilience & Physical Wellbeing Coach

A graduate of the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Stu enjoyed a hugely successful career as an Officer in the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, deploying on numerous operational tours across the world. Stu also spent a number of years in the ‘Brigade Reconnaissance Force’, an elite unit tasked to deploy behind enemy lines in Afghanistan to provide accurate reports and advice directly to his Brigade Commander, guiding tactical decisions involving over 7000 people.

Whilst serving in Afghanistan, Stu was badly injured in 2012 and was forced to retire early from his career. A true reflection of his character, Stu refuses to be labeled by his injury and has launched himself into a stunning new career as a Leadership, Wellbeing and performance consultant, referring to his injury as ‘just another of life’s challenges’.

Stu combines his invaluable personal experiences of leadership and management in a truly high-performance culture with his academic prowess and continues to develop his capability as a coach with DeltaV.

Alastair Duns

Leadership & Resilience Specialist

A former professional Yachtsman, with 12 years experience of leading teams all over the world, with extensive experience of team development and resilience.

Alastair has been taking part in team sports for most of his life, playing rugby in school from an early age through to rowing whilst at University. Alastair continued to develop leadership, coaching, mentoring and assessment skills throughout his adult life from coaching rowing at University, to working as a teacher after graduating right through to his time as Senior Skipper for a global Ocean yacht race. His stories and real-life experiences really help bring to life all the lessons he learned as well as giving real-life examples of theories discussed during sessions.

Having studied languages and lived abroad, Alastair can give invaluable insight into cultural differences and how the use of language can affect the culture of teams. He has a unique understanding of how cultural differences can affect how teams work as well. Fluent in French and Spanish, Alastair can give a unique insight into communication, team development, resilience, and leadership.
